All About Blogs
What is a Blog ?
Technically speaking : A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual or organization, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. (Source : Wikipedia)
Plainly speaking, a blog is your personal log. Your personal diary. Whilst there are millions of blogs, this space has been created especially so travellers can share their travel experiences with thousands of other Kerala enthusiasts.
So if you have just returned from a fantastic trip to Kerala then share your experiences (and even your pictures and videos) using this blog. For those of you who are interested in finding out about what other travellers to Kerala thought about the region, or those who have questions can read through travellers blogs or post questions of their own. Connect with ‘real’ travellers and share ‘real’ Kerala experiences.
How to create your new Blog
Creating a new blog means being able to log your experiences (and pictures) on the site to share with others. To create a blog you can click here or click on the ‘Write a Blog’ button on the Blogs Homepage.
Please note that to start blogging you would need to have already registered. Registration is a simple process and requires you to submit some details including your email address for us to verify. Please note that we do not share your contact details with any other party. If you haven’t already done this please click here and register.
Once you have registered and have been verified you can start ‘blogging’. You will be taken to a dashboard which gives you the option to ‘Write a Post’. This will take you to an interface where you can write your experiences. You will notice that there are options to add images (and even videos) into your blog.
To add an image you would need to use the option ‘Add Media’ in the tool bar on top of where you are tying your blog. Once you have added an image you can then its available for you to use within the main text by using the ‘Insert image’ option.
Once you have created your blog, you will need to press ‘Save’. You could preview your page before you click on ‘Publish’ which will post your log . If you have any questions about how to use the blog please browse through our Blog Help section.
What do RSS , Ssyndication mean?
A link that says Syndicate this site, RSS, or XML means that the headlines, a link, and an entry description for each new weblog entry are made available for others to use on their websites or to access through a newsfeed reader program.
Rather than manually checking in on each of the weblogs that you enjoy, you can instead use a newsfeed reader program that will compile all of the latest postings and excerpts of your favorite sites that have enabled RSS - sometimes known as Really Simple Syndication. With a newsfeed reader you can easily and freely subscribe to content from enabled websites.Several free newsfeed readers are available including:NetNewsWire Lite - for the Mac, Feed Demon - a free trial for the PC, Bloglines.com - a web-based free newsfeed reader.
Do we doctor Blogs posted by users? We created this blog so that Kerala enthusiasts can share their experiences and get quality information about this beautiful destination from other travellers who have actually been to the region. The idea is for you to be able to get ‘real’ experiences from ‘real’ people who have been. It will therefore be our endeavour to keep feedback posted as they are.
However, as a responsible tour operator we will monitor blogs for any misuse and any material considered unsuitable may be removed.
